Surgical Dentistry

Dental surgery involves any surgical treatment aimed at correcting the condition of the teeth. The dentist performs dental surgery for some reasons such as dental impaction, ankylosis, or complete edentulism with fragments of the root remaining in the jaw. The dentist will numb the tooth and its surrounding area with a local anesthetic, and then with a special scalpel, remove the gum in the area under surgery. In some cases, all or part of the tooth is covered by a bone that needs to be removed to separate and extract the tooth and its root. Afterwards, the area is washed and then stitched. Some of the most common dental surgeries are:
Bone Grafting
Tooth Extraction
Gum Grafting
Wisdom Teeth
